Description

Straitjacket Entertainment is an independent game studio based in Brno, Czech Republic. Now we are working on our first game "Planet Gula", which is a platform independent real time strategy game.

History

When Harry Met Sally...

Jiří Nývlt and Marek Vaškeba met when collaborating together at Lusorion. Marek was developing the title "Legends of Azulgar" as a team member and Jiří tried to negotiate the terms of the cooperation for the development of his game.

Jiří had finished making a prototype of the game "Gula", but it lacked graphics. During one of their discussions, word got out that Jiří needed graphics for the game, and Marek began drawing and coming up with some graphics for the game. Eventually, both Marek and Jiří decided to stop collaborating at Lusorion and focused on their own thing.

At the same time Jan Šmíd began experimenting with developing his own game, "Megapong". Jiří and Jan met while working at Pixmania together, but bonded over their love for games. Like Marek, Jan joined the team and began prototyping the game after a few conversations with Jiří.
So, in 2012, the team was complete!

7-OCT-2013: Straitjacket Entertainment was born!

October 7, 2013 could be considered the day that Straitjacket Entertainment was established. Jiří Nývlt, Jan Šmíd and Marek Vaškeba met at a pub called "natahu" in Brno. Here they brainstormed and came up with the official name of their firm as well as a list of names for their first game.
It was also at this time that they registered the internet domain name.
